During our Communication Arts time we will be reading novels as well as working on grammar and writing. The first book we will be reading is Hatchet By Gary Paulsen.
When we are reading a novel the students will be using their reading journals to summarize the chapter they read (a paragraph for a chapter), I will post discussion question on a wiki that they will answer, we will have class discussions, and the students will be doing activities to go along with the book.
